Rainy Days and Random Thoughts
October 27, 200710/27/07
Rainy days are perfect for staying in and creating things, aren’t they? I’ve been busy whipping up a few new tags (sneak preview -> Cake …. and Flowers ….. they’re far from “finished” though)
I also created an awesome bowl made out of an old Joe Jackson 33LP … look! How cute is THIS!? I found the instructions on PaperSeed’s blog (check it out)
And even more — Saturday Night Fever wider, flatter bowl, a Genesis bowl, and a Kurtis Blow – The Breaks bowl. It was great fun making these!
I think I’ll check out some thrift stores to find LPs that meant something to a few people and make them some for Christmas! (again, the green Christmas idea! lol aka “I’m too broke to buy new”) Like the soundtrack to Grease for my daughter …. something by Barbra Streisand or Rod Stewart for my mother in law….
A few more books I won from eBay came … I got Wally Lamb’s “I Know this Much is True” and “She’s Come Undone”, a book called “Sickened” (can’t recall the author) and Joyce Carol Oates “We Were the Mulvaneys”
I’ve got my bookcase packed to capacity now, isn’t it homey looking? I love to read, always have. This is my little nook in my bedroom!
Check out these sweet little postcards I found at a thrift store – aren’t they cute? Here’s the box they came in … here’s a view of the first five designs, and here are the last three. I love them, so retro.
I’ve started “Rooster Attitude” by Workbasket (which PAM N. from 123stitch so VERY kindly gifted me with .. along with “Son of Chickens” ) She’s a very sweet person – when I’m done stitching them, I am going to do a PIF on both of them so someone else can enjoy them too!
I’m selling my BOAF (Birds of a Feather) Gold Santa … if you want to bid on it, check out my auction –> eBay
I’m still needing to recoup some of the cost of replacing the car window that was busted.
I’ll leave you with this …. isn’t this a funny picture? I have always loved it (and it’s perfect for this time of year, Halloween and what not!)

Great job on your vinyl record bowl! It’s the funnest kind of project – easy to do with nice results every time!
Love the bowl!!
And the postcards are great, too. Whatcha gonna make out of them???
