Another weekend gone … *sigh*

April 21, 2008

oh, they go by FAR too quickly, don’t they?

To me, there is nothing quite like rising when I want (NEVER at the ungodly hour of 7AM, that I must adhere to from Monday to Friday)
The sun is up and shining through the windows, there’s a gentle breeze blowing – because I’ve turned off my heat and opened the windows.
I can hear birds chirping. I lie there with my eyes closed, knowing I have nowhere to go and all day to get there. It’s positively blissful!

Alas, it is now Monday and my weekend is over. Bummer.

My baby went to her first prom on Friday.
Her boyfriend had his junior prom and took her – here are the happy teenage couple, Corinne and Tom:

My son worked Friday night so I was alone all night, just me and the dog and cat. (And my new carpet cleaner, which I spent the better part of the night/morning using on every rug in the house lol – I finally crashed in to bed around 4AM)

Saturday was spent cleaning some and stitching and laundry.
I’ve finally finished stitching “Eloquent Christmas” … the fact that someone wants it in a trade was motivation to finally complete it.
I also stitched up a rooster silhouette in “Confetti” by WDW which looks pretty cute. I got back to work on “Running Like Mad”, pulling out some stitches I didn’t like the color of.

Yesterday, kid one and I went looking for a cheaper tuxedo for the proms – he was charged 170.00 for a tux for one night! (I told him not to go shopping for one without me!)
Anyhow, we went to K&G and I BOUGHT a tux AND a suit for 150.00!
Now he’ll have one whenever he needs it. Ok, realistically, that probably won’t be too often, but just in case, it’s there. He looked so darn cute in his new tux and shirt, cufflinks, shiny new shoes and stunna shades!
My baby is all grown up. I had to blink back a tear thinking this is what he might look like on his wedding day!

I also finished up watching the 2000 series of the Twilight Zone.
I’ve now seen all the 1980s and 2000s versions. Whew, that was a LOT of TZ shows over the past few weekends!

Now, on to Ray Bradbury Theater! (Have I mentioned how much I love SwapaDVD.com?) Similar to PaperbackSwap.com — enter your wish, when it comes up, it’s yours! Couldn’t be easier.

So there you go – my weekend, in a nutshell. How was yours?
